Rector Dalgar Met with Journalists: Shared MAKÜ's Works and Goals

Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar met with members of the press.
At the lunch held at the historic Taşoda Mansion, Journalists Association President Kürşat Tuncel, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Hakan Öner, Prof. Dr. Oğuz Gürsoy, Prof. Dr. Ömer Tekşen, Rector Advisors Prof. Dr. Ali Murat Alparslan and Prof. Dr. İsmail Çelik, General Secretary Ümit Yavuz, Corporate Communication Application and Research Center Director Assoc. Murat Kara, along with academicians and journalists were present.
Rector Dalgar, emphasizing that Taşoda Mansion is a restaurant where local dishes are served and historical and spiritual values are best appreciated, expressed his pleasure in meeting with journalists in this historic venue. Rector Dalgar also highlighted that Taşoda Mansion will make significant contributions to Burdur in cultural tours.
A Gastronomy and Intangible Cultural Heritage Museum Will Be Established
Stating that the university continues its work in line with the principle of "Universal Knowledge, Social Contribution," Rector Dalgar said, “We aim to reflect MAKÜ’s knowledge and experience on Burdur’s local values. In this context, we have accelerated our efforts to establish a Gastronomy and Intangible Cultural Heritage Museum.” Rector Dalgar emphasized that the Salda Science Center, which will soon be opened and was taken over from the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization, will also make significant contributions to Burdur’s tourism and development. He stated that the university will continue to support regional development.
Internationalization Strategy and Livestock Projects Continue
Touching on internationalization strategies, Rector Dalgar stated that a principle agreement was reached with the Netherlands on goat genetics production, significant progress was made in the embryo project, and with a change in legislation, high genetic quality embryos will be delivered to farmers. He also emphasized that the university continues its training programs for women farmers.
We Gave Importance to International Promotion, We Increased Our Education Quality
Rector Dalgar, stating that they give importance to international promotion as well as regional development, mentioned that they participated in many promotional fairs abroad and made international bilateral agreements. Rector Dalgar also emphasized that MAKÜ entered the 600-800 band in international rankings and increased its recognition.
Burdur is an Advantageous City for Student Preferences
Rector Dalgar expressed that Burdur is an advantageous city for students, offering a successful educational environment due to the absence of security issues, low living costs, and fewer distractions. He stated that with the accessibility of information everywhere in the digital age, cities like Burdur have become attractive for student preferences.
Micro-Credential Programs Are Starting
“MAKÜ will launch 10 different micro-credential programs in the new academic term to support the development of students. These programs will allow students to gain competencies outside their fields, expanding their career paths,” said Rector Dalgar, stating, "We offer more than a university," and expressed that these efforts provide great opportunities for students. Rector Dalgar said, “MAKÜ provides its students with the opportunity to enrich their education with micro-credentials by offering more than 500 elective courses. We place great importance on applied education. We are a pioneering university in this regard.”
Artificial Intelligence Became Mandatory in Education
Stating that they constantly update the university’s education policies, Rector Dalgar announced that artificial intelligence has been made a mandatory course in all departments. He stated that with this step, it is aimed for students to master modern technologies. He also emphasized that with the Artificial Intelligence Cafe to be established within the university, students will have the opportunity to develop themselves.
A Breeding Heifer Production Center Will Be Established
Rector Dalgar, stating that MAKÜ has made a name for itself with its work in the field of livestock, emphasized that establishing a breeding heifer production center is also included in these efforts. Emphasizing that they are a university with an embryo production license, Rector Dalgar stated that they continue their R&D work in this field on their farms.
